Who makes the best opaque tights?

Though it is difficult to pin a winner on one exact brand, many editors, reviewers, and consumers rate Falke as very high on the list. In the category of opaque tights especially, Falke has been known to create very opaque tights that are resistant to runs and sagging, as well as keeping one especially warm during the coldest months of the year. The top quality, however, was the comfortably factor in which many consumers give Falke a straight up 10/10. Select the drop box marked brand and you can see all the opaque tights from Falke that we have available.

What does opaque mean?

Opaque refers the specific denier count in hosiery. The higher the denier number, the more opaque a pair of tights can be. To be considered opaque, denier has to be at least 40, but numbers can run as high as 200+ for special made opaque winter tights.

When is the best time to wear opaque tights?

Considering that to be considered opaque, tights need to have a high denier count, meaning they are almost or completely non-seethrough. Having a higher denier count means that the material is going to be thicker, more durable, and less susceptible to runs. If runs are a common wardrobe mishap, you may want to consider wearing opaque tights all the time. If the denier count is high enough and the tights are completely opaque, they may even be worn as pants, just like leggings. Overall, opaque tights are the best for cold weather, as the thicker material helps to trap in body heat while you're on the go.
