The nylon tights are made of 100% polyamide. In the broadest sense the nylon pantyhose is out of its proper times. The nylon pantyhose was a good possibilty to dress women´s legs in fine fabrics.
At the end of the 50´s it was possible to knit these fine fabrics in a round way, to create a seamless product. This was possible a few years earlier but the quality was worse than nylon stockings and therefore the product was not capable for the market. Today you call a pantyhose made of 100% polyamide nylon tights. The difference is the used yarns. The fabric is texturized, to create a better elasticity.
This method is known as the brand Helanca, and was used until the invention of Elastane, to make the nylon pantyhose more elastic. This very day there is a pantyhose that is made after these principles. For example the Hudson-Tradition or Elbeo Rhythmus. There are clear differences between the nylon tights and the modern pantyhose: The mesh structure and the softness and the nylon tights are designed with a reinforced sole and heel. |
