Ergee was established in 1901 by the concern Edwin E. R÷ssler OHG in Gelenau, Erz Mountains.
At that time they began to manufacture lady tights, and sent them under the name brand Ergee into the whole world.
After the expropriation of the manufacturing plants in Gelenau and Falkenbach in 1948, a new factory was established 1950 in Sonthofen/Allgaeu. There, children socks and knee-highs were produced. Ergee attained the status of the largest children socks producer in the world.
At the beginning of the 60's in Austria the company "Ergee Textilwerke Schrems GmbH" was created. Besides socks and woman pantyhose the concern manufactured knitwear such as knitted caps, knitting tights and gloves.
In 1964 Ergee successfully developed the yarn Ergolan. It is used for socks, stockings, men tights and accessories such as caps, headbands, scarves, knee-highs and gloves. Ergolan is one of the most important products of the Ergee company.
2001 Ergee celebrated the hundred years anniversary and introduced the innovation "Smart" - Ergolan with Lycra. At the end of the year Ergee was taken over by V2 GesmbH and Claus Vatter.
2002 Ergee presented, under the license name brand Sympatex, the innovative sportsocks "Stimulating System". The homepage "www.ergee.com" received the at.award - in the category the "Business to Consumer" - as best Website.
2003 Ergee brought the new developed "Ergeenomixx" sports line to market.
