 Stay-ups are characterized by the fact that they do without garters and straps. The thigh bands are equipped with silicone (alternative natural rubber) and cannot slip. The bands replace the garter and suspenders and still hold the stockings in place. The thigh bands effectively stick to the skin.
In earlier times there were already stay-up stockings with rubber bands. This technology had however some disadvantages; a too close rubber band could lead to the fact that the blood circulation of the leg was strongly limited. After it had become possible to manufacture the stockings with rubber bands it became a worlwide accepted technology. Particularly to note is that the stay-up stockings with silicone bands require a different care.
Silicone does not get along with body lotion. Smallest skin particles place themselves underneath the band. Both lead to the fact that stay-up stockings slip. This is very unpleasant, however an exception. Most women love their stay-up stockings, whether delicate 8 denier stockings or patterned or warm 60den microfiber stockings.
